Join or Renew Your WSFMA Membership Today - WSFMA offers three membership programs that support the work we do providing services to and representing farmers, farmers market organizers and consumers through food policy work, advocacy, education, promotions, resources and consultation. Food Access Wrap-Up From the 2016 Annual Conference - At the 2016 conference we were pleased to provide a number of opportunities for people to engage in conversation and action around food access. This year we offered two workshops, a state-run training, federal sign-up event, and a meeting of our Regional Leads Program. Read more about our Food Access programming.

Did You Know? - “Food Access” refers to overcoming barriers that make it difficult for resource-limited shoppers to purchase and consume healthy, fresh, affordable and tasty food. Coincidentally, working to increase food access also strengthens local economies and communities by putting federal food dollars into the pockets of farmers, providing sustainable jobs, income, and opportunities across the food web. You can read more about WSFMA’s food access efforts here.

New online series features local market vendors - ActivelyNorthwest is an online newsletter sponsored by LifeWise of Washington.  Their Healthy Eating section features a "Behind the Farmers Market" series showcasing farmers selling at farmers markets in Washington and Oregon.   Some of the Washington farmers include market favorites like Alvarez Organic Farms, Martin Family Orchards and Rockridge Orchards & Cidery. You’ll also find produce guides, shopping tips and seasonal recipes. Follow the link to Healthy Eating.

Watch the WSFMA Farmers Market Feud! - This entertaining and educational video, filmed at the 2014 WSFMA Annual Conference and generously sponsored by the Washington State Department of Agriculture, features farmers market managers and farmers in a fun-filled Smackdown as they tackle probing questions and gritty issues about the farmers market industry.
