Marketing
WSFMA campaigns to promote public and farmer use of farmers markets:
- Publishes over 50,000 Washington State Farmers Market guides annually
- Maintaines the WSFMA website with updated directory of Washington farmers markets, indexed in all major search engines and receiving thousands of hits monthly
- Partners with From the Heart of Washington and Cascade Harvest Coalition for promotion of WSFMA member markets
Education
WSFMA produces educational programs, materials, and technical assistance:
- Our website provides information, contacts and links useful to both farmers and markets.
- Hosts annual Farmers Market Conference, in partnership with WSU, WSDOH and WSDA, for education, updates and networking
- Provides technical assistance through staff, Board members, and expert referrals
- Provides access to WSU Rapid Market Assessment training and ongoing technical assistance
- Assists with market development, policies, and marketing assistance from other member markets
- Provides assistance for new market development
Insurance
WSFMA promotes shared risk and incentives to lower insurance costs:
- Access to affordable group liability insurance
- Market safety program with Risk Reduction Assistance
Communication
WSFMA heightens knowledge through communication:
- Members listserv provides instant communication among member markets
- Email notifications from WSFMA for updates, legislative alerts, etc.
- Grant access and project support through WSFMA partnerships
Standards
WSFMA sets standards for farmers markets in Washington State that are observed by state agencies, the media and the public.

WSFMA advocates for legislation, program funding, and regulatory sensibility at every level of government:
